What's this? Another contest, what joy!
*Update*
Penalty period. Enter by next Monday but there will be a 1/2 point deduction for each day late! If you've entered this contest you automatically qualify for the new club *
NarutoNinjaNation! All you have to do is add it to your watch list.
I was thinking the other day about Naruto stuff (which I seem to be doing a lot lately) and I thought, I want to be a ninja! Then I thought, who doesn't? So, what kind of ninja would you be in the Naruto world? What's your fighting style? Personality? Of course you got some awesome outfit, right?
There's pretty much only one:
This must be a true-to-life representation of you, well as close as you're willing.

I want a total breakdown, is that too much to ask? lol

This is as much fun as it is a reflective, introspective exercise.

Tell your friends so we have a lot of entries!

First place gets a 1 year subscription to Deviant Art

Second place gets a 3 month subscription.

The initial deadline will be set for October 15, 2007.

I would love to start a trend here. Once the contest is over Ill leave this journal for people that want to do this project for their own benefit. You can notify me of a "light entry", just picture of your character and only the information you deem relevant.

If you placed in my last contest, you may enter a "light" entry purely for your benefit (not for prize, sorry).
Judging
These lovely people have agreed to help me judge(when the time comes):

Total possible: 50 pts. (for now)

Criteria: Originality: 20 pts.
---10 pts. Character's clothes and hair (level of drawing skill not important, and there may be written descriptions)
---10 pts. Real-life attributes expressed in character

Criteria: Research: 30 pts. *important!*
---15 pts. Named sources
--- 5 pts Learn a little Japanese for the name of your character and any attacks (attacks are optional)
---10 pts. What do the names chosen mean? Why does they fit?
A few (hopefully) helpful guidelines:

Study yourself, your personality.

Check out astrology, it's not always accurate but it can help get you thinking.

Take a moment to write down your strengths, weaknesses, personality and your world view/philosophy (yes, they may actually have bearing on the character).

Be honest with yourself.

Flaws are good, including physical (in your drawing)

You don't have to be from the Fire Country. Your character can be "good", "bad", or neutral.

Think about how you fight in real life (if ever have, or do martial arts), and also about how you fight in video games.

What kind of grades have made/do make? What level of education are you at?

Wikipedia is good (but not always correct) source for finding information. Also, have fun using Google to learn about Japanese mythology, legends, gods and creatures.

You dont have to put all this info in your picture. It can be in your comments.

Just kidding, this an over-the-top, in-depth profile of my
Naruto world ninja self. The more info you put the better, but you don't have to do as much as I did. I dont have a pic because I cant draw lol. For those of you in the same boat, include a written description of your character's appearance. You only need to describe/draw one outfit for your character. Any more is up to you.
My example took up a lot of space, I've moved the information to a literature scrap.

Theorem: As long as you can find it in yourself to love another person, there will always be someone to love you back. You just have to find them.
Corollary: Being honest in expressing your feelings makes it easier.

98% of deviants have signatures that start with "98% of..". Put this in your signature if you are part of the 2% who made something up just to be part of that majority.
